Addison has been one of the league’s most productive young receivers, but his career has also included multiple off-field incidents that have drawn league attention.

Joe Nelson of SI.com wrote Tuesday, “Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison was arrested and booked into a Florida jail on Monday. Tampa-based Hillsborough County Jail records show that Addison was booked for probable cause trespassing in an occupied structure or conveyance on the 5200 block of Orient Road, which is the block occupied by multiple restaurants and clubs.

“He was arrested by Seminole Indian Police at 3:46 a.m. local time, and booked into the county jail at 7:33 a.m. He was released around 2:40 p.m. Monday after posting $500 cash bond.”

This is the third documented legal incident involving Addison since he entered the league. In July of 2023, he was cited with a misdemeanor speeding charge, going 140 on a Twin City freeway. A year later, in July of 2024, his second car-related incident occurred.

ESPN’s Kevin Seifert summarized last summer, “Addison, the Vikings’ first-round pick in 2023, was charged in July 2024 with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with at least a .08% blood alcohol concentration after a West Los Angeles police officer found him asleep at the wheel of a white Rolls Royce that was blocking a lane of I-105 westbound near the Los Angeles airport (LAX).”

That resulted in a $390 fine and 12 months of probation.

The news about the latest issue came just before Kevin O’Connell’s press conference on Tuesday. He was, of course, asked about Addison, but declined to comment in detail, “I just learned about that very, very recently, so I don’t want to speculate on that in any way, shape, or form. We gotta get as many facts and find out exactly what happened. Speculating at this point would be incredibly premature for me.”

Addison missed three games in 2025 because of his 2024 incident. The suspension was lifted and he immediately made his presence known by making a big play against the Steelers in Dublin and scoring the game-winner a week later in London — the Vikings also suspended him for the first quarter that day.

In three seasons, Addison has caught 175 passes for 2,396 yards and 22 touchdowns. He’s been Justin Jefferson’s sidekick and is planned to continue in that role going forward.

The timing is notable, as the Vikings must soon decide on Addison’s fifth-year option, a standard contractual checkpoint for first-round picks.

Furthermore, the Vikings might change their approach regarding pending free agent Jalen Nailor. The WR3 could depart in March, but long-term questions about Addison’s employment could put a bigger priority on keeping the 2022 draftee in the building.

From a league standpoint, it remains unclear whether the latest incident will trigger any additional discipline beyond the legal process itself. The NFL typically waits for matters to play out before determining whether further action is necessary, and no league response had been announced as of Tuesday afternoon. For now, the situation remains in the fact-gathering stage, both for the Vikings and the league office, with more clarity expected once the case progresses.

Addison will turn 24 this month. He’s under contract for one more season (two if the Vikings pick up the option).
